Boston Harborfest is proud to welcome Citizens as the new Presenting Sponsor of Boston Harborfest!

This exciting partnership unites two organizations with deep roots in the region and a shared commitment to community, civic pride, and celebrating the rich history and culture that define Boston. As the city looks ahead to America’s 250th anniversary, Citizens’ support will help elevate the Harborfest experience for the hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors who gather each summer to commemorate our nation’s founding.

Now in its 44th year, Boston Harborfest feature hundreds of free, family-friendly activities throughout Downtown Boston and along the waterfront. From the annual opening ceremony in Downtown Crossing and historical reenactments to live entertainment, waterfront programming, and the July 2 fireworks display, Harborfest continues its tradition of bringing history to life while creating memorable experiences for all ages.

As Presenting Sponsor, Citizens will play a leading role in enhancing entertainment and performance areas, helping to create an even more vibrant and engaging celebration.

Beyond the festival itself, Citizens is further demonstrating its commitment to the community through a special collaboration with Artists for Humanity. Together, they will create Boston 250: A City Woven Together, an interactive community mural celebrating Boston’s history, culture, and future. Festival attendees will be invited to contribute to the artwork at Christopher Columbus Park, creating a lasting symbol of unity and shared civic pride. Following its display this summer, Citizens will donate the completed mural to Boston Public Schools for installation at a local high school.

Citizens is also marking America’s 250th anniversary through service. The bank has awarded a $50,000 grant to Boston Cares to support volunteer opportunities that honor the nation’s history through meaningful community engagement. From June through November 2026, 250 Citizens colleagues will participate in service projects benefiting historic sites, nonprofits, and schools across Massachusetts.

Together, Boston Harborfest and Citizens look forward to strengthening community connections and celebrating Boston’s BEST during this year’s Independence Day festivities.
