Where are the activities being held?
Boston Harborfest encompasses many of the significant historical landmarks and traditions celebrated in Boston and in Christopher Columbus Park. Partner programming will occur along the Freedom Trail, at historical museums, Faneuil Hall, Charlestown Navy Yard and Long Wharf. Do we need to buy tickets to Boston Harborfest?
Thanks to our generous partners and sponsors, many of Boston Harborfest’s activities are free! Some events do require an entry fee. You can find the list of events with their prices on the Schedule page.
Is Public Transportation Available?
Yes, and we would advise taking it as parking will be limited. The most direct access to Faneuil Hall, Long Wharf and Christopher Columbus Park via the MBTA is on the Green or Orange Lines to Haymarket Station. You may also take the Blue Line to Aquarium.
Where are the best opportunities for parking?
Boston Harborfest does not have specified event garages, however the following parking lots are close by: 75 State Street Garage, 28 State Street Garage, Harbor Garage, Rowes Wharf Garage. Will there be fireworks?
Fireworks will not be offered during Harborfest this year. However, we recommend checking out the Boston Pops’ Fireworks Spectacular on Tuesday, July 4th at the DCR Hatch Shell.
What entertainment will there be?
The annual opening opening ceremony at Faneuil Hall will include a performance by the 215th Army Band on June 30. On Saturday, July 1, Christopher Columbus Park will host a curated arts festival, along with show tunes performance by Sweet Harmony. Following the singing troupe, there will be a screening of Yankee Doodle Dandy in the park. A traditional Independence Day commemoration and parade will take place on July 4th at Faneuil Hall. Is this a family friendly event?
Yes! There will be plenty of interactive activities that encourage participation from both adult and youth audiences. From reenactments to arts and crafts, each Harborfest partner will offer fun and educational activities that celebrate the city’s great history and maritime heritage.
